Elaine completes her epic cycle trip

Elaine is very pleased to have completed her 920 mile cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats and would like to thank everyone who has sponsored her and helped her get through the long miles. Special thanks go to her husband John for all the organisation of the trip and also Alan and Shaun for helping her get through the difficult times and reminding her why she was doing it. If you wish to contribute to the sponsorship then Click here to go to her Virgin Money Giving page.

Some of her statistics from the ride are as follows:
70 hours of cycling over 10 days
15,231 meters climbed
18,912 calories burned
310,800 rotations of the pedals
3 inner tubes
1 tyre (glass in tyre at St. Just – 9 miles into ride!)
1 set of brake blocks (lots of very steep downs!)
1 collapsed bridge and river crossing!

To verify the route for the Land’s End to John O’Groats club, I had to collect company stamps along the way, so naturally, I decided to go into optical practices. I would also like to thank:

Rayner Opticians – Ludlow

Joseph Hayes Opticians – Shrewsbury
