Vision Care for Homeless People is holding a volunteer open evening at the new Manchester centre on Monday 7 April from 6:30pm – 7:30pm and warmly welcomes the local and optical community to come and learn more about the charity.
Volunteer Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians, plus a clinic manager, are needed to run the unit, and the evening is an opportunity to find out how rewarding donating a few hours of professional time each month can be.
Located within the Cornerstone Day Centre, in Denmark Road, it is close to the heart of the city, and serves a significant homeless population. The new clinic is furnished with modern diagnostic technology, kindly donated by the optical community.
